You can Change the World, You See in 2013

Change Your Beliefs and Perceptions and you will change your World

When you commit to change your beliefs or perceptions around anything, you can change your reality or the way you see and experience anything in your environment. In other words, if you want anything in your environment to change, then change the way you perceive those things and they will immediately change. You cannot easily change other people, interest rates or the state of the economy, but you can easily change one thing, over which you exert 100 % control, namely yourself.

Example: View setbacks or challenges as your ally and see them as either an opportunity to learn or as an opportunity waiting for you to discover. Daren Hardy, the publisher of Success Magazine, used this technique with great success, as a 19 year old real estate agent (residential property salesman). He would start his day with a list, where he would celebrate his “FAILURES” every day. In fact his objective was to get as many failures as possible, every day, because he knew that selling was a numbers game. After a certain number of negative answers there would inevitably be a yes forthcoming.

As he had a door slammed in his face, or a dog would chase him down a driveway, he would smile and add another tick to his “FAILURE” list. He viewed each action, which would traditionally be viewed as a rejection, in a positive light and thus was able to keep himself inspired, so that he would keep taking the difficult daily actions necessary to acquire expired listings etc.

His determination, passion and drive showed to everyone who met him and as a result people began to know like and trust him. More and more people listed their houses with him. In fact within six months he was outselling the entire office of veteran sales people. How do you view “REJECTION” or failures, can you make the shift and actually celebrate each one?

  • That is perception very well explained. It explains to me why some people love avocado and some don’t. My mum always used to say, “try it you’ll love it, it’s lovely.” I never did and still don’t. I understand how that can happen now!
